Fish On! Riding thru another trip to Sooner Lake. Saugeye bite was not on fire but they were good enough. I was a bust on the first try but regrouped and got on them. Boated at least 15 fish or more with 3 over the size limit one real nice 19" saugeye. For sooner that's saying something on a 4hr voyage. Got plenty of perch to eat as well. Called it good quickly. If you have any of these trips scheduled with me bear in mind they don't bite like any other fish and it takes time and patience with a gentle steady hand to get them. I went back out today and located some nice schools in 8 to 15ft of water, I have to use rod and reels for locator it's kind of a slow process but large groups of them will lend a few keepers. Bait schools are hatched out and looking phenomenal again this year. There are some very large beeeder Shad that have grown beyond being food for any predators that are doing a great job of keeping the lake populated with Shad. Most of the fish I'm catching this year are nice and fat. Thanks Mark for choosing my service!
Fish On Guide Service Skiatook lake today. We rolled out to our first stop and caught a bunch of sandbass catfish and about 5 hybrids up to 5lbs. I moved on to find a larger group and finished off our limit. We had a few get loose and break lines today but the bigger fish were biting pretty good and pulling like locomotives. doing pretty good on cut bait. Fish were shy today take it or leave it attitude we had to work for them and they were hard to find in general. I don’t think they like the storm that rolled in. I cleaned up 23 or more fish total and made a good haul on the fillets!
Fish On! thank you Jerry for organizing a trip and coming out to skiatook today we had a good time catching our 4 man limit of large hybrids, switching over to sandbass catching over 20 of those and also 15 catfish up to 15 pounds. Also found a school of surfacing hybrid and sandbass and ate those up on artificials. Very busy day indeed. Fishing a lot of cut shad today. fishing 1ft to 40ft of water. . water temp about 80. 15lb channel cat that’s a personal best. Real nice!
Fish On Guide Service! Grinding thru another day on and off the water. I’ve got openings in July for Striper, Saugeye and Crappie, even Sandbass this year is awesome for fishing. We got on some Sooner Saugeye today off to a slow start had to do some searching found a bunch of perch in one area had to skip that one. Had a couple other spots that dried out on me and Hit a couple of real winners as well. We picked out 7 Saugeye over limit threw back an unmentionable amount of 14,15,16,and 17” fish. Wind was messing with our presentation a little towards the end tried to stay on them long as possible. Caught about 22 white perch and had some hybrid straighten the hook on a couple as well as some large shad that jumped in the boat. Also caught a land turtle in middle of lake drowning it swam to the boat and was glad to see us. Crazy day. Water temps was 78, stained water on south end of lake and beautiful emerald water on North end and fishing was best 25 to 38ft seemed like the deeper the water the softer they would pick up and just flip off the hook. Fishing nightcrawlers. Have to just nonstop pound on them.
